Banff, Alberta through the eyes of a Hoosier from New York

Geoff Chen, one of our feature photographers snuck off to Banff a few weeks ago. We talked him into sharing some of the sights.

The cover photo was the first day we were there and to my excitement the skies and lighting were perfect! Mount Rundle looking so majestic under the red sunset.

This is the iconic shot of The Banff Springs Fairmont Hotel from Surprise Corner in Banff.

A shot from the lakeside trail at lake Louise. The turquoise color comes from the rock “powder” in the water reflecting the sky.


After 4 days of nothing but clouds I was about to give up…then suddenly 20 mins until sunset…a small clearing in the sky and a crazy fast car ride to Moraine Lake got me this.


Finally got some decent light the last morning of the trip so luckily I headed out to Vermillion lake one last time and got this shot.

Raised in Glen Cove, New York until the age of 18.  He attended Indiana University and has been a resident of the State of Indiana ever since.
